Create content

CapabilityWhat you get
Image generationDescribe an image and Ally creates it, then sends it to you on WhatsApp as a real image.
On brand social carouselsAlly designs scroll stopping Instagram carousels (3 to 10 slides) with viral structure. It pulls your brand kit automatically, including your logo, colors, and Instagram handle, so every slide is locked to your brand. Each finished slide is delivered to you as an image.
Presentation decksAlly builds an editable slide deck (pitch deck, board deck, training deck) with researched content and AI images. Decks are created and edited in the dashboard, where you can present or export them. You can kick one off from WhatsApp and open it when it is ready.
Documents and spreadsheetsAlly drafts docs, proposals, and workbooks and sends you a shareable link or file.
ResearchAlly runs multi source research on a topic and returns a clean, sourced summary.
Invoices and emailAlly can create and send a Stripe invoice and draft or send email from your Ally address, with your confirmation first.
Outreach and follow upsAlly drafts and sends follow ups to pending contacts on your command.

Ally always works within your active workspace, so its answers and your brand stay scoped to the right business.

How to enable Ally on WhatsApp

  1. Open DashboardSettingsAlly Agent.
  2. Turn on WhatsApp.
  3. Enter your phone number and verify it with the code sent by SMS.
  4. Set your working hours. Ally only sends proactive messages during these hours.
  5. Set a PIN and choose an inactivity timeout. The PIN protects your business data if your phone is lost or shared.
  6. Save. You can now message Ally on WhatsApp using the Link AI number, and Ally can message you with updates.

There is no separate app to install. Ally uses the Link AI WhatsApp number and recognizes you by your verified phone.

Proactive messages

Once WhatsApp is enabled, Ally can reach out to you, not just answer you:

  • Daily briefings summarizing your workspace activity.
  • Check ins during your working hours.
  • Email notifications, so when an important email arrives at your Ally address or connected inbox, Ally sends a short WhatsApp summary. Ally never auto replies to those emails. It only notifies you, and you decide what to do.

Proactive messages are only sent during the working hours you set.

Message consumption

Ally on WhatsApp draws from the same message allowance as the rest of your workspace, so it is worth understanding how it adds up.

  • Your messages and Ally's replies both count. Every message exchanged with Ally is counted toward your workspace message limits, the same pool your agents use.
  • Proactive messages count too. Briefings, check ins, and email notifications that Ally sends you are counted as messages.
  • Rich outputs arrive as separate messages. A generated image is sent as its own message. A carousel is delivered as one image per slide, so a 7 slide carousel arrives as several messages and consumes accordingly. Documents, decks, workbooks, and invoices are sent as their own link or file message.
  • Heavy content costs more. Because images and carousel slides each send as individual messages, content generation uses more of your allowance than a plain text answer. Ask for the slide count you actually need.
  • Hitting your limit. When your workspace reaches its message limit, Ally may pause responses until your next cycle or an upgrade. Check usage in your subscription or by asking Ally about your plan.

Security and privacy

  • Phone verification: WhatsApp only works after you verify your number by SMS.
  • PIN gate: After the inactivity period you choose, Ally asks for your PIN before continuing.
  • Workspace scope: Ally answers about your active workspace only and does not mix data across businesses.

Slack

Ally is also available on Slack. Connect from IntegrationsSlack, choose Ally as the responder, then DM the bot, @mention it in a channel, or use /ally your question. See Slack Integration for setup and troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting

  • Ally says it does not recognize your number: WhatsApp is not enabled or the number is not verified. Enable and verify it in SettingsAlly Agent, and message from the exact number you verified.
  • Ally asks for a PIN: This is the inactivity gate. Enter your PIN, and adjust the timeout in settings if needed.
  • No proactive messages arrive: Confirm the current time is inside your working hours and that WhatsApp is still enabled and verified.
  • An image or carousel did not arrive: Rich media is sent as separate messages right after the text reply. If they are missing, you may be at your message limit, or generation may still be finishing. Try again or ask Ally to resend.
  • Ally answers about the wrong business: Switch your active workspace in Ally settings. On WhatsApp, Ally uses your active workspace.
  • Replies slow or stopped: Send a new message to continue. If it persists, check that your account is within its message limits, since Ally WhatsApp messages count toward usage.

Notes

  • Decks and longer documents are created and edited in the dashboard, where you can present, refine, and export them. WhatsApp is ideal for quick questions, briefings, actions, images, and carousels.
  • Turning off WhatsApp in settings stops both your messages to Ally and Ally's proactive messages to you. Your data and agents are untouched.
