What you can do

Actions

Workflow steps that write to monday:

ActionWhat it does
Create itemAdds a new item (row) to a board, optionally in a specific group, with column values filled in.
Update item columnsUpdates one or more column values on an existing item.
Move item to groupMoves an item to a different group on the same board (for example, from "In Progress" to "Done").
Post updateAdds an update (comment) to an existing item.

Triggers

Events in monday that start a workflow:

TriggerFires when
Item createdA new item is added to the selected board.
Status changedA status column value changes on the selected board.

Each action and trigger lets you pick the exact board, group, and columns through searchable selectors, so you do not need to know any monday IDs.

How to connect

  1. Open DashboardIntegrationsmonday.com.
  2. Click Connect.
  3. If the Link AI app is not yet installed on your monday account, monday shows an install screen first. On that screen, choose All workspaces so Link AI can use boards across your whole account. Picking a single workspace limits which boards appear.
  4. Authorize the requested permissions.
  5. You are returned to Link AI with monday connected. Boards now load in the workflow action and trigger selectors.

Note: Installing the app is an admin action on monday. If you are not an account admin, monday sends an install request to your admins to approve.

How board access works (important)

monday has two separate gates, and they are easy to confuse:

  • Authorization (OAuth) controls the permissions Link AI is granted, such as reading boards and creating items. This happens every time you connect.
  • Installation scope controls which workspaces the app can see. This is chosen once by an admin when the app is installed.

Link AI can only see boards in the workspaces the app was installed on. If the app was installed on a single workspace, only that workspace's boards appear, even though the connection looks healthy and all permissions were granted. This is a monday account setting, not a Link AI limitation.

Troubleshooting: only some boards or workspaces show up

If you do not see boards from all of your monday workspaces, the app was installed on a limited set of workspaces. Fix it in one of two ways.

Option A: Add more workspaces to the existing install (fastest)

  1. In monday, go to your avatar → AdministrationApps (or Installed apps).
  2. Find Link AI.
  3. Open its workspace access settings and add the workspaces you want (or select all workspaces).
  4. Return to Link AI. The new boards appear in the selectors. No reconnect is required.

Option B: Reinstall with all workspaces

  1. In monday, go to AdministrationApps and uninstall Link AI.
  2. Back in Link AI, open Integrationsmonday.com and click Connect again.
  3. Because the app is no longer installed, monday shows the install screen. Choose All workspaces.
  4. Authorize, and your boards from every workspace will load.

Tip: If you connect and only one workspace's boards appear, this is almost always the install scope, not a permissions or bug issue. Confirm the connecting monday user is also a member of the other workspaces.

Other troubleshooting

  • No boards load at all: The integration is not connected, or the connection was removed. Reconnect from Integrationsmonday.com.
  • A trigger does not fire: Confirm the workflow is active and that the board selected in the trigger matches the board where the change happened. A monday webhook is registered automatically for the selected board when you save the workflow.
  • An action fails with "monday.com not connected": The connection was removed after the workflow was built. Reconnect, then run the workflow again. Your workflow and its configuration are preserved; disconnecting never deletes workflows.
  • A multi level (Portfolio) board does not appear: Make sure you are on the latest version of Link AI. Board listing includes both classic and multi level boards.

Notes

  • Disconnecting monday removes only the stored connection. Your workflows and their monday configuration stay intact and resume working once you reconnect.
  • Board selectors search across every workspace the app can access, so you can type a board name instead of scrolling.
