Ally Docs
Ally's workspace library for documents, decks, workbooks, emails, and files. Ask Ally to create them, then edit, share, and export from one place.
Ally Docs is the library for everything Ally creates and everything you upload in a workspace. Proposals, reports, decks, workbooks, campaign emails, generated images, and files from WhatsApp all land here. Open a card to edit it, share a link, or export.
Docs are workspace-scoped. Each workspace has its own library. See Workspaces.
What you get
One library Editable Ally documents and uploaded files sit in the same grid. Filter by Docs, HTML, Sheets, PDFs, Decks, Email, Images, Audio, or Video. Search by title.
Ask Ally, it lands here Ask Ally in the dashboard or on WhatsApp to write a proposal, build a deck, make a workbook, or generate an image. The result appears in Docs automatically.
Edit in place Click a document to open the editor. Rich text uses a full document editor. Sheets, decks, HTML reports, and emails each open in their own panel. You can also ask Ally to revise the open doc.
Share and export Make a doc public and copy its share link. Export to Markdown, PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, PowerPoint, HTML, or Google Drive (Docs, Slides, Sheets) after you connect Drive in Integrations.

Files you send Ally on WhatsApp are indexed here the same way dashboard uploads are.
Open the library
- Open Ally in the dashboard.
- Go to the Docs tab.
- Filter or search, then click a card.
Empty library: ask Ally to write a proposal, build an HTML report, or generate a PDF. The item appears as soon as it is ready. Decks show a building state while Ally researches and designs slides, then flip to a normal thumbnail when they finish.
Create something
Ask Ally in the dashboard chat or on WhatsApp. Examples:
- "Draft a one-page proposal for the venue inquiry I just got."
- "Build a 10-slide pitch deck from our latest numbers."
- "Create a workbook that compares these three pricing plans."
- "Write an HTML status report for the team."
- "Generate an image of our storefront at dusk."
Ally uses your brand kit for colors, fonts, logo, and voice when it designs content. Reach campaign emails are saved as email docs with a share link.
Edit, share, and export
Edit Open the card. Change the title and body in the editor, or tell Ally what to change in the Ask Ally bar.
Share
Set visibility to public and copy the share link (/s/...). Anyone with the link can view a read-only preview and download. Shared pages are not indexed by search engines. Private docs stay in the workspace.
Export Use the download menu on the open doc. Available formats depend on the kind (see the table above). Google Drive exports need the Drive integration connected.
Delete From the Docs grid, delete a card. That removes it from the library. Public share links for that doc stop working.
How it works with other products
- Ally creates and edits every doc.
- Branding supplies logo, colors, fonts, and voice.
- Reach stores every campaign email in Docs.
- Pages is a separate library for public chat pages, not documents.
Troubleshooting
The library is empty Ask Ally to create a document. Uploads and WhatsApp files also appear after they finish processing.
A deck still says Building Ally is researching or designing slides. Leave the tab open or come back; the card updates when the deck completes. Failed decks stay marked failed so you can ask Ally to retry.
Share link does not open The doc must be public. If you deleted it or switched it back to private, the link returns not found.
Google Drive export is missing Connect Google Drive in Integrations, then try the export again. Only Link AI-created files are sent to Drive.
WhatsApp file did not appear Rich media is stored after Ally receives it. If it is missing, you may be at your message limit, or the upload may still be finishing. Ask Ally to resend or check Docs again.
